Campervans & caravans will, for the first time, be given an area in the west of the site if the new licence proposal is approved by Mendip Council. In addition to the existing area in the east, the west area will add room for another 1,000 vehicles, reflecting a steady increase in demand for facilities for live-in vehicles. The new area - located between Stickleball Lane and the Baileys Camp field - is a further expansion of the site in the south west, extending the major expansion in 2008 that saw the addition of the Paines Ground and Dairy Ground camping areas. Although unconfirmed in the licence proposal, west campervanners are likely to benefit from a dedicated pedestrian gate, giving them convenient access to The Park, with the Other Stage also closer than from the east campervan fields. They will also benefit from a more gentle slope, unlike the notorious 'hill of death' that east campervanners face when returning to their vans. Choice of east or west must be made in advance, when purchasing a campervan pass - available to those who have made the full ticket payment. How they stack up West vs. East
